High-Stakes Interception at Border Terminal Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully intercepted a major drug trafficking attempt at the Torkham border, seizing a large consignment of narcotics smuggled from Afghanistan. The operation was based on credible intelligence and executed by ANF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) teams.

The Smuggling Setup A 10-wheeler cargo truck, disguised as transporting honeybees, crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan. Upon surveillance, the vehicle was relocated to Peshawar for a detailed inspection with the help of vehicle mechanics.

What Was Found Hidden inside a secret cavity in the rear axle shaft box, ANF recovered:

  • 17.5 kilograms of heroin
  • 4.5 kilograms of methamphetamine (ICE)

The truck’s driver, Momand Ekram, a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, was arrested on the spot. Initial investigations revealed the drugs originated from Jalalabad and were intended for distribution within Pakistan.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation A case has been registered under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other members of the trafficking network.

ANF’s Commitment to Border Security The ANF reaffirmed its resolve to prevent Pakistan’s soil from being used for international or domestic drug trafficking, emphasizing its role as a frontline force in the fight against narcotics.
