SCO Condemns Terrorist Attacks, Pledges Cooperation

TIANJIN: Leaders from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) have voiced strong condemnation of the recent terrorist incidents in the Pahalgam area of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the attack on the Jaffar Express train, and the violence in Khuzdar. They committed to enhancing multilateral cooperation and implementing tangible measures to counter terrorism.

In a joint declaration released following the Council of Heads of State meeting held in Tianjin, the leaders emphasised that individuals who perpetrate, orchestrate, or sponsor such attacks must face justice. They also reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to the fight against terrorism, separatism, and extremism in all forms.

The SCO member states highlighted that the use of terrorist and extremist groups for achieving political objectives or self-serving goals is unacceptable. They also acknowledged the crucial role of sovereign nations in confronting and neutralizing these security threats within their borders.
