The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully apprehended a suspect involved in issuing fake appointment letters for the US Consulate in Karachi. The arrest was made following a formal complaint filed by the consulate.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi carried out a targeted operation, leading to the arrest of Mohammad Mushtaq Rajput. The accused was reportedly running a visa consultancy service under the name “Mansoor Consultant” and had been involved in defrauding citizens by providing counterfeit consulate appointment letters.

How the Scam Was Uncovered

The fraudulent activity came to light when an affected individual, who had paid a hefty sum for visa processing, raised concerns about the authenticity of the documents provided by Rajput. Upon verification, it was revealed that the appointment letter was forged. The victim disclosed that the accused had charged him PKR 200,000 for the fake documents.

US Authorities Took Action

US officials formally reported the fraudulent operation, prompting FIA’s intervention. Acting swiftly, authorities launched an investigation, leading to the suspect’s capture. The accused is now under custody, and legal proceedings have begun.

The FIA has urged citizens to remain cautious and verify all visa-related documents through official channels to avoid falling prey to such scams. The agency is actively cracking down on fraudulent visa consultants to prevent further exploitation.
