PFF Opens New Bank Account to Resolve Financial Issues

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is making headway in resolving its long-standing financial challenges by successfully establishing a new official bank account.

Under the guidance of PFF President Mohsen Gilani, the federation inaugurated the account at MCB in Lahore. This action follows the freezing of the previous account due to legal problems, which had earlier stopped the PFF from obtaining funds from FIFA.

The local bank gave its approval for the new account based on FIFA certification, and the PFF has kept FIFA informed about the development. The federation is anticipated to get all outstanding FIFA payments shortly thanks to the new account.

This development represents a substantial advancement for the PFF, guaranteeing improved financial procedures and stability for football administration nationwide.

Officials are optimistic that having access to these funds will enable the federation to concentrate on development initiatives, grassroots projects, and upcoming international obligations.

The successful opening of the bank account offers much-needed assistance to the PFF, which has had trouble managing its finances in recent months. The federation is prepared to improve its operations and encourage the expansion of football throughout the nation as FIFA funding is about to start again.

The PFF has completed a detailed 15-point agenda for its next Executive Committee meeting. The agenda has been distributed to committee members in preparation for the meeting.

Key topics include the debut of a franchise league, the creation of new bank accounts, and the selection of a new PFF General Secretary. Shahid Khokhar and Col Hamdani are two names being considered.

PFF President Mohsin Gillani is anticipated to brief members on his recent discussions with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), as well as updates on strategic alliances with the football associations of Azerbaijan and China.

Other agenda items are a suggestion to create a new PFF logo and the start of the franchise league, Premier League, and Challenge Cup competitions to encourage competitive football in Pakistan.

The committee will also examine the establishment of various committees and approve the federation’s yearly budget, as well as the establishment of more bank accounts to improve financial operations.
