Latest ICC ODI Rankings: Rizwan and Afridi Make Gains

Following the conclusion of the series between Australia and South Africa, the latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings reveal upward movement for Pakistan’s ODI captain, Mohammad Rizwan, and left-arm fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi.

Rizwan and Other Pakistani Batsmen

Rizwan has advanced two positions, now holding 25th place with a rating of 592. Fakhar Zaman, the opening batsman, has successfully maintained his 28th position with 584 points. Salman Agha, the all-rounder, and Imam-ul-Haq, the left-handed batter, also held their respective rankings at 38th and 40th. Saim Ayub remains at 55th with 503 points, while Abdullah Shafique has descended slightly to 99th with 419 points.

Australian Players’ Performance

Despite a 2-1 series loss at home to South Africa, several Australian players have seen improvements in their batting ranks. Travis Head has risen one spot to share 11th place, Mitchell Marsh has climbed four places to 44th, and Cameron Green has made a significant leap of 40 places to 78th. Following his impressive 87-run innings in the second ODI, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has also improved, ascending 23 places to 64th.

Top Batting Rankings

Shubman Gill (784 points) and Rohit Sharma (756 points) from India continue to dominate the ODI batting rankings, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam secures third place with 739 points.

Bowling Rankings: Afridi Climbs

In the bowling rankings, Shaheen Afridi has ascended one position to share 13th place with India’s Mohammed Siraj, both holding 593 points. Haris Rauf has maintained his 29th position, Abrar Ahmed is steady at 39th, and Naseem Shah has improved by one place to 45th with 491 points. Mohammad Nawaz, the spinner, has dropped to 67th, while Mohammad Wasim Jr., the pacer, has descended to 75th with 410 points.

Top Bowling Rankings Tighten

The competition for the top spot in the ODI bowling rankings has intensified, with Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana now sharing the lead with South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, both possessing 671 points. Kuldeep Yadav from India is currently in third place.

Other Notable Changes in Bowling Rankings

Lungi Ngidi from South Africa was a notable mover, rising six places to 28th after securing seven wickets in the series. Sean Abbott from Australia (up nine places to share 48th) and Nathan Ellis (up 21 places to 65th) have also made considerable progress.
