The Balochistan government has expanded the Balochistan Awami Endowment Fund (BAEF), ensuring free medical treatment and access to lifesaving medicines for underprivileged patients across the province.

According to the Social Welfare Department, the initiative has emerged as a crucial support system for families unable to afford costly healthcare. With a dedicated budget of Rs. 7 billion, the fund is financing treatment worth nearly Rs. 90 million each month.

Beneficiaries include patients suffering from cancer, heart diseases, thalassaemia, kidney and liver transplants, among other critical conditions. By removing financial barriers, the scheme is designed to provide timely treatment and reduce the burden on low-income households.

Since its inception, the BAEF programme has expanded steadily. Thousands of patients have already received quality healthcare in both public and private hospitals. To strengthen the initiative further, the government has signed agreements with top healthcare institutions, ensuring reliable and efficient medical services.
