PRA Achieves Impressive Revenue Growth in July

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has reported remarkable performance in the initial month of the fiscal year 2025-26.

A spokesperson for the PRA stated that the authority gathered Rs 19.5 billion through sales tax in July. Furthermore, the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess contributed an additional Rs 506 million, elevating the total revenue collected to Rs 20.073 billion.

This figure represents a substantial 46 percent surge compared to the revenue generated during the corresponding period last year.

The spokesperson clarified that the tax rates remained unchanged. The noteworthy expansion is instead credited to the PRA’s approach of widening the tax base and organizing informational workshops for taxpayers and relevant parties.

He further expressed confidence that, owing to these initiatives, the Authority anticipates exceeding its annual revenue target for the current year.
