Arshad Nadeem to Commence Training for World Athletics Championship

LAHORE: Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s distinguished javelin thrower and Olympic medalist, arrived in Lahore on Tuesday following a successful surgery performed in the United Kingdom.

Sources indicate that the celebrated athlete arrived at Lahore International Airport on Tuesday evening and had a meeting with national women’s cricket player Sidra Amin upon his return.

Last month, Nadeem underwent a vital muscle procedure in Cambridge, UK, which was instrumental in his recuperation from a calf muscle ailment. This injury had recently caused him to withdraw from a global competition held in Switzerland.

According to medical sources, examinations revealed some impairment to the muscles in Nadeem’s calf, which necessitated surgical intervention.

Post-surgery, Nadeem underwent rehabilitation under the guidance of Dr. Ali Bajwa in London before his return.

The 28-year-old athlete is now set to begin preparations for the World Athletics Championship, which is slated to occur in Japan in September.

Recently, Arshad Nadeem initiated light workouts as a component of his recovery process and requested the nation’s support for a swift recovery and outstanding execution at the international event.

“As you are aware, I sustained a calf injury, which necessitated a minor surgical procedure. By the grace of God, it has improved considerably, and the physiotherapist has indicated that I am regaining fitness,” Nadeem stated in a video message.

“The World Athletics Championship in Japan is upcoming, and with your prayers, I am optimistic about performing well.

“With God’s blessings, I resumed gentle throwing exercises today, and it feels fantastic.”
