Operation Against Terrorists Planned in Bajaur and Khyber
Government sources disclosed on Tuesday that authorities have resolved to initiate an operation targeting terrorists located in the Bajaur and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This decision follows unsuccessful negotiations between militants and the Bajaur Amn Jirga.
During these talks, tribal elders presented three primary demands:
- The expulsion of militants from the tribal area.
Official sources have indicated the presence of approximately 300 terrorists in two areas within Tehsil Mamund of Bajaur. Furthermore, there are over 350 terrorists situated in the Khyber district.
The population of Tehsil Mamund exceeds 300,000. Sources also report that over 40,000 individuals have relocated from Bajaur to other regions.
According to official information, a substantial majority, over 80%, of the terrorists in Khyber and Bajaur are of Afghan origin.
This is an evolving story, and updates will be provided as more details emerge.
