Pakistan’s star cricketer Babar Azam has built a legacy with his remarkable performances, but there’s one thing he wants his fans to stop doing—calling him ‘King.’ Despite his incredible achievements, the batting maestro believes he has a long way to go and prefers to stay humble.

During a recent interaction, Babar made it clear that while he appreciates the love and admiration, he does not see himself as a ‘King’ just yet. Instead, his focus remains on continuous improvement and contributing to Pakistan’s success.

“I’m Not a King—Yet,” Says Babar

Speaking to the media, Babar expressed his gratitude for the support but urged fans to tone down the royal comparisons.

“I am not a king yet. We’ll see where I stand when I step away from the game. For now, my focus is on my responsibilities and giving my best for the team,” Babar stated.

He also opened up about his recent role as an opener, explaining that he has embraced the challenge based on team requirements. “Opening is a new challenge for me, but I’m ready to take responsibility. As the innings builds, I get a better understanding of the pitch and conditions.”

Striving for Excellence

Despite being one of the most consistent batters in world cricket, Babar remains self-critical. “I always try to perform well, but I haven’t been able to convert starts into big innings recently. It’s something I’m working on,” he admitted.

He emphasized that dwelling on past performances isn’t his style. “What’s done is done. If I keep thinking about past performances, I won’t be able to move forward. My focus is always on the next challenge.”

A Humble Leader with a Champion’s Mentality

Babar’s humility and dedication have endeared him to fans worldwide. While he may not want to be called a ‘King,’ there’s no denying his impact on Pakistan cricket. With his eyes set on bigger goals, the 29-year-old remains determined to lead by example—through hard work and perseverance.
