Harris Secures Player of the Match with Crucial Half-Century

MANCHESTER: In the Women’s Hundred, Charlie Dean’s thrifty bowling performance of 2/18, along with Grace Harris’s match-winning half-century, powered London Spirit to a tight three-wicket victory over Manchester Originals. The match took place here at Old Trafford on Monday.

Chasing a target of 123 runs, the Spirit secured the win with just two balls remaining, having lost seven wickets.

Harris led the charge, scoring an undefeated 50 from 32 balls. Despite a collapse in the middle order, where she saw four partners dismissed, Sarah Glenn’s quickfire 10 off four balls aided in getting the team across the finish line.

Kira Chathli, the opening batter, also contributed with 34 runs from 30 deliveries, including four boundaries.

For the Originals, Kathryn Bryce and Amelia Kerr stood out, each claiming two wickets. Mahika Gaur, Deandra Dottin, and Danielle Gregory each managed to secure a single wicket.

After being put in to bat, the home side posted 122/6 in their allotted 100 balls.

Dottin was the top scorer for the Originals, making 36 off 30 balls, which included four boundaries.

Beth Mooney (26), Fi Morris (20), and Alice Monaghan (18) also added valuable runs.

Dean was the most effective bowler for the Spirit, taking two wickets for 18 runs in her 20-ball spell. Tara Norris, Glenn, and Charli Knott each took one wicket.

This three-wicket victory strengthens London Spirit’s position at the summit of the Women’s Hundred 2025 standings. They now have 12 points after three games, while Manchester Originals remain fifth with four points from as many matches.
