Eubank Jr. and Benn Set for Highly Anticipated Rematch
LONDON: Organizers revealed Wednesday that British boxing rivals Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are slated to engage in a rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 15, a bout eagerly awaited by fans.
In their initial 12-round contest held in April, Eubank Jr. emerged victorious through a unanimous decision, securing 116-112 points. Following the intense battle, Eubank was hospitalized for routine examinations.
Reports indicate that the agreement was finalized on Tuesday, with Riyadh Season joining as a sponsor for the ‘Unfinished Business’ fight.
Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, shared on Instagram their return to Spurs for ‘GETBACK,’ stating, “Back to Spurs we go for the GETBACK.”
Notably, the match was initially planned for September 20. However, Eubank indicated that he wouldn’t be prepared by then.
Benn expressed his readiness to fight Eubank in September but affirmed that he would be even more prepared, with increased power and strength, for their November encounter. He addressed Eubank, stating that he would see him soon.
“I was ready in September, but I’ll be even more ready for November,” Benn commented. “See you soon @ChrisEubankJr #redemption.”
For Benn, 28, this defeat marked the first of his professional career, bringing his record to 23-1. Despite the setback, he demonstrated significant resilience and power during the fight.
This rematch reignites a rivalry decades in the making and renews a fierce family feud that began 35 years ago when their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, first met in the ring.
