Pakistani Cricketers Surge in Latest ICC T20I Rankings
Following their strong showing in the recent three-match T20I series against the West Indies, Pakistani cricketers have witnessed significant upward movement in the updated ICC T20I rankings.
Key Performers and Rank Changes
- Hassan Nawaz, a middle-order batsman, jumped 24 places to secure the 30th position with 569 rating points after scoring 79 runs in the series.
- Saim Ayub, a top-order batsman and the series’ leading run-scorer with 130 runs (including two half-centuries), climbed 25 spots to 37th place with 559 points.
- Sahibzada Farhan, another opener, advanced 34 positions to claim 63rd place with 484 rating points, thanks to his 91 runs in the series.
- Captain Salman Ali Agha and veteran batter Fakhar Zaman also improved their rankings, moving up 15 and three places to 76th and 78th, respectively.
Top Players Experience Ranking Shifts
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who haven’t played T20Is since 2024, have seen their rankings decline. Babar is now in 17th place, while Rizwan is in 19th, both down three positions.
Mohammad Haris, a wicketkeeper-batter who struggled during the Caribbean tour, fell 21 places to 86th with 413 points.

India’s Abhishek Sharma remains the top T20I batter, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Varma in second and third place, respectively.
Bowling Rankings Overview
No Pakistani bowler is currently in the top 20. Haris Rauf, a fast bowler, remains in 26th place with 575 points, while Abbas Afridi, a young pacer, dropped three spots to 27th.
- Sufiyan Muqeem, a left-arm spinner, made an impressive leap of 69 places to reach 34th with 542 points.
- Shaheen Afridi slipped one position to 36th, and Mohammad Nawaz climbed 51 places to 56th with 489 points.
- Abrar Ahmed fell nine spots to 60th, while Shadab Khan, the T20I vice-captain, dropped five places to 72nd.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy leads the bowling rankings, followed by England’s Adil Rashid, with West Indies’ Akeal Hosein moving up to third, replacing India’s Varun Chakaravarthy.

- Shadab Khan moved down two spots to 19th.
- Saim Ayub made a significant jump, climbing 70 places to 24th with 119 rating points.
- Mohammad Nawaz advanced 13 places to 36th, while Abbas Afridi declined four places to 56th.
- Iftikhar Ahmed dropped six places to 70th, and Faheem Ashraf improved five spots to 77th with 58 points.
India’s Hardik Pandya is still the top T20I all-rounder, followed by Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi in second and third, respectively.
