Netherlands Tour of Bangladesh for T20I Series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally announced the schedule for a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands. This series marks a historic occasion as it is the first bilateral series between the two nations to be held in Bangladesh.

The Dutch team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on August 26. Upon arrival, they will engage in three days of training sessions to prepare for the matches.

All three T20I matches will be hosted at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS). The series will commence on August 30, with subsequent matches on September 1 and September 3.

This series is particularly significant for Bangladesh as it provides a vital opportunity to fine-tune their strategies before the Asia Cup, which starts on September 9.

For the Netherlands, this tour represents their first visit to Bangladesh since the 2014 ICC T20 World Cup.

Historically, Bangladesh and the Netherlands have competed in five T20I matches, with Bangladesh holding a 4-1 lead in the head-to-head record.

Their only previous bilateral series was in 2012, consisting of two T20I matches held in the Netherlands.

The two teams last clashed in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where Bangladesh secured a 25-run victory.

Notably, this series is Bangladesh’s fifth consecutive T20I series. Earlier, they faced defeats against the UAE and Pakistan, losing 2-1 and 3-0, respectively.

Following these series, the Bangladesh team toured Sri Lanka for a multi-format series, where they won the three-match T20I series 2-1.

Subsequently, Pakistan toured Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series, which the home team won 2-1.
