Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Arrives in Dublin for T20I Series

DUBLIN: The Pakistan women’s cricket squad has touched down in Dublin on Sunday, ready to participate in a three-match T20 International series against Ireland.

Led by captain Fatima Sana, the team arrived in Ireland and will commence preparations following a period of rest.

The series is set to kick off on August 6, with all games scheduled to be held in Dublin.

According to the team management, the players are scheduled to recommence training activities on Tuesday, building up to the series’ initial match.

The Pakistan women’s cricket team is slated to compete at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin on August 7, 10, and 11, respectively.

Following this series, the team will participate in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup next month, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan is scheduled to commence their World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on October 2, followed by a match against India on October 5. Their final group stage match is set against Sri Lanka on October 24.

It is worth mentioning that the national women’s cricket team will play all of their World Cup matches in Colombo, aligning with the ‘fusion formula’ established prior to the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. This formula stipulates that the two rivals will not visit each other’s countries for an ICC event for the subsequent three years. Instead, they will compete at a neutral venue.

Consequently, the first semi-final of the eight-team tournament will be contested either in Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, with the second knockout match taking place in Bengaluru on the following day.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final is provisionally planned for November 2 in Bengaluru. However, should Pakistan qualify, it will be hosted in Colombo.
