After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan experienced an initial setback early in the second over with Saim Ayub’s dismissal.
The left-handed batter, who achieved a half-century in the series’ first match, only managed 7 runs from 9 balls in the second match before being caught out by Holder.
Holder made another impact in his subsequent over, dismissing Sahibzada Farhan, the other opener, who only managed 3 runs from 7 balls, leaving Pakistan struggling at 16-2 after 3.3 overs.
The situation worsened when Mohammad Haris, the wicketkeeper-batter, was dismissed by Akeal Hosein, contributing just 4 runs from 6 balls.
However, Fakhar Zaman and captain Salman Ali Agha made an effort to steady the innings, establishing a significant partnership as they aimed for a competitive score to secure the series.
Pakistan’s hopes diminished significantly in the 10th over when Roston Chase dismissed Fakhar after he scored 20 runs from 19 balls, leaving the team in a difficult position at 53-4 after 9.1 overs.
