Earthquake Shakes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Early Friday morning, tremors were experienced in Peshawar and various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre indicated that the quake’s origin was in the Hindu Kush mountains.

Residents in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Malakand, Dir, Haripur, Abbottabad, and nearby vicinities reported feeling the seismic activity. The earthquake’s focus was registered at a depth of 148.2 kilometers.

The Seismological Centre gauged the intensity at magnitude 5.0. An assessment of the precise magnitude and consequences is still in progress.
