Mbeumo Commits to Manchester United Through 2030
CHICAGO: Bryan Mbeumo shared on Tuesday that discussions with several managers preceded his choice to join Manchester United, citing Ruben Amorim’s vision at Old Trafford as pivotal.
Last week, United formally declared the acquisition of the forward from Brentford, securing his services until 2030, with a possibility of further extension.
Mbeumo had an outstanding 2024–25 Premier League campaign, netting 20 goals, only surpassed by Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22). His exceptional performances were instrumental in Brentford’s commendable 10th-place finish.
The 25-year-old acknowledged considering proposals from other teams but ultimately concluded that Manchester United offered the most compelling opportunity.
“I engaged with other managers to understand their strategies, yet Manchester United’s plan resonated strongly with me,” Mbeumo stated.
“Manchester United is a prominent club. I view this as an incredible chance, and I opted for their vision. I embrace challenges, and Manchester offers a promising path I am eager to pursue.”
Mbeumo lauded his dialogue with United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, characterizing it as productive and persuasive.
“The exchange was positive and insightful. He conveyed his intentions, which deeply connected with me,” he elaborated.
He further noted that their conversation was beneficial, emphasizing Amorim’s focus on building a top-tier team.
“We are driven by a desire to win and excel. We aspire to be the best, and that’s precisely what we will strive for,” he concluded.
