Orioles Secure Fifth Consecutive Victory, Clinching Series Against Blue Jays

BALTIMORE: In a thrilling MLB matchup at Camden Yards on Tuesday, Adley Rutschman’s crucial RBI double in the eighth inning propelled the Baltimore Orioles to a 3-2 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Rutschman, recently returning from the injured list, delivered the decisive hit following Gunnar Henderson’s one-out double in the eighth.

The Orioles, currently positioned at the bottom of the AL East, have now achieved five straight wins and secured the initial three games of the ongoing four-game series, set to conclude on Wednesday.

Ramon Laureano contributed with two singles and a walk, as the Orioles capitalized on a limited number of extra-base hits.

Rookie starter Brandon Young made a strong impression, pitching a career-best six innings and conceding two runs on six hits, while also recording six strikeouts.

Reliever Andrew Kittredge was credited with the win, while Corbin Martin notched his first career save, navigating a challenging ninth inning where Toronto placed runners on second and third.

Martin sealed the victory by striking out Nathan Lukes and Bo Bichette. Earlier in the day, Baltimore dominated Toronto with a 16-4 win in the opener, following an 11-4 victory on Monday.

Between games, the teams finalized a trade, sending reliever Seranthony Dominguez to the Blue Jays. Dominguez pitched a scoreless seventh inning against his former team.

Blue Jays starter Eric Lauer pitched five innings in the second game, allowing two runs. Jeff Hoffman (6-4) was charged with the loss after allowing Rutschman’s game-winning double.

The AL East-leading Blue Jays have now suffered four consecutive defeats. The Orioles aim to complete the sweep on Wednesday, with Dean Kremer scheduled to face Jose Berrios.
