Iranian President to Visit Pakistan
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced that President Masoud Pezeshkian is slated to visit Pakistan on July 26.
Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, communicated this information during a press briefing, noting the visit will occur within the coming week, according to Iranian Tasnim News.
The spokesperson characterized the forthcoming presidential visit as indicative of the importance Iran places on its relationship with Pakistan. He stated that these bilateral connections are built on a foundation of shared history, culture, religious understanding, and mutual respect.
He mentioned increased interactions between Tehran and Islamabad subsequent to what he described as Israeli and US aggression against Iran.
He pointed out that in the aftermath of an attack allegedly by the Zionist regime on Iran beginning June 13, which targeted various sites over nearly two weeks, the United States initiated airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.
Reportedly, Iranian forces responded with substantial counterattacks. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force reportedly launched multiple waves of missile strikes on Israeli sites as part of Operation True Promise III, causing extensive damage throughout the occupied territories.
Furthermore, Iran reportedly launched missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar, a major American military installation in West Asia. A ceasefire was enacted on June 24, concluding the conflict.
In a separate development, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni conveyed his profound condolences to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi via telephone regarding the loss of life and destruction resulting from recent floods in Pakistan.
The Iranian minister extended his sincere sympathies to the families affected, affirming Iran’s solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan during this challenging period. He also guaranteed Iran’s readiness to offer any feasible assistance to those impacted by the floods.
The two ministers also deliberated on President Masoud Pezeshkian’s impending visit to Pakistan on July 26. Minister Momeni expressed gratitude for Naqvi’s recent trip to Iran, while the Pakistani minister conveyed Islamabad’s anticipation in welcoming President Pezeshkian.
