Karachi Theft Case: Accused Claims Award from Former PM
A woman apprehended in Karachi for alleged theft has a prior criminal record, having served a three-year sentence in Islamabad. She asserts that during her imprisonment, she was recognized with an award from a past prime minister, according to police sources.
In her statement to investigators, she stated that the award was in acknowledgement of her sewing skills demonstrated while incarcerated.
Law enforcement officials mentioned that the suspect, originally from Faisalabad, faces multiple theft charges in Lahore. Furthermore, a complaint was filed against her by a resident in December 2024.
The police report details how the woman purportedly drugged a household by adding sedatives to their tea, causing them to lose consciousness. She then allegedly stole jewelry, cash, and other valuable items before leaving the premises.
She was taken into custody by Ferozabad Police a few days prior on theft allegations. Upon hearing of the arrest, the complainant went to Ferozabad Police Station and identified the woman, authorities confirmed.
Police also verified her involvement in another case investigated by Defence Police. The investigating officer stated that she is implicated in three separate theft incidents at Ferozabad Police Station.
According to investigators, the total value of stolen goods from various residences amounts to millions of rupees.
In a separate incident last month, four individuals were taken into custody for allegedly robbing a businessman of Rs130 million in Karachi’s PECHS area, disguising themselves as TikTokers on the evening of June 26. The detainees include Yasra, Nimra, Shahryar, and Shahroz.
Authorities revealed that the siblings involved in the robbery are active on TikTok. The suspects are accused of using counterfeit Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) uniforms to gain access and carry out the robbery at the businessman’s home.
They are charged with stealing a significant amount of money, as well as valuable watches, mobile devices, and other personal items before fleeing the location.
Further investigation revealed that Yasra, one of the suspects, has prior experience in modelling and television dramas, with videos showing her alongside both Indian and Pakistani artists.
