Interior Minister Naqvi Meets Bahraini Counterpart to Bolster Security Ties

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi engaged in discussions with Bahraini Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in Manama, focusing on areas of shared concern and aiming to deepen security collaboration between the two nations.

A statement from Radio Pakistan detailed that both parties assessed their joint initiatives in combating terrorism, human trafficking, and drug trafficking. They also concurred on the importance of reinforcing cooperation in these critical domains.

The ministers explored avenues for enhancing the effectiveness of the Pakistan-Bahrain joint security committee to better tackle security challenges at both the regional and global levels.

The Bahraini Interior Minister lauded Naqvi’s visit as a valuable chance to strengthen security relations and commended the existing degree of coordination between the two countries.

Naqvi stressed the immediate requirement for increased collaboration between the interior ministries, specifically in the realms of narcotics control and combating human trafficking. He also formally invited his Bahraini counterpart to visit Pakistan in the near future.

Key Bahraini officials, such as the Deputy Interior Minister and Chief of Public Security, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Saqib Rauf, and other members of the diplomatic corps, were present at the meeting.

Upon his arrival at Bahrain International Airport, Naqvi was warmly received and subsequently inspected a guard of honour at the Interior Ministry headquarters, Manama Fort.
