Altaf Hussain Hospitalized in London

The founder of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, has been admitted to a hospital in North London after experiencing several health issues, including cardiac stress.

Party officials confirmed that Hussain was taken to the medical facility on Thursday due to a serious illness, prompting a series of diagnostic examinations.

According to Mustafa Azizabadi, a senior MQM leader based in London, doctors determined that hospitalization was necessary for further medical care.

Qasim Ali Raza, the Deputy Convener of the MQM Central Coordination Committee, stated that Mr. Hussain underwent various tests at a London hospital, encompassing blood work, ECG, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.

Mr. Hussain has been dealing with significant emotional duress for an extended period. Medical professionals have also advised a blood transfusion as part of his treatment, which has since been administered.

Hussain had previously been in the intensive care unit of the same hospital following a Covid-19 diagnosis in February 2021. He contracted Covid-19 twice during that year but successfully recovered.

Sources indicate that Hussain’s recent hospital visit was prompted by a foot injury that had not healed over several days.

An insider mentioned, “He is diabetic. Amidst this issue, he began to experience heart strain, leading his associates to rush him to the hospital. His condition has now stabilized.”
