Hasan Ali Aims for National Representation in Upcoming Tournaments
Pakistani fast bowler Hasan Ali has voiced his strong desire to participate in major upcoming competitions for the national team, including the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup.
In a recent interview, Hasan stressed that his selection hinges on his on-field brilliance in the months ahead.
“If my performances are up to the mark, the team management will surely consider me. It’s a matter of great pride to represent Pakistan. I consistently aim to deliver my best and make valuable contributions to the nation and its supporters,” Hasan stated.
Reflecting on his journey, the right-arm bowler openly spoke about the obstacles he’s encountered since entering the international arena.
“Since my debut on August 18, 2016, I’ve navigated numerous peaks and valleys throughout my career. However, my affection for cricket has never waned. I firmly believe that each new day brings renewed optimism, and as long as you are able, you should persevere,” he added.
The 31-year-old is not presently included in the squad for the forthcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, commencing on July 20 at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Reportedly, his absence is temporary while he remains engaged in his County Championship duties in England.
The speedster is presently representing Warwickshire in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2025, where he is exhibiting excellent form, holding the position as the third-highest wicket-taker with 21 wickets from nine matches, maintaining an economy rate of 8.43.
During a recent T20I home series against Bangladesh, he made a comeback to the national side, becoming Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker.
Ali secured eight wickets in three matches, including a five-wicket haul, while maintaining an economy rate of 9.53.
Sources indicate that selectors might consider Hasan for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, slated for August.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced a 15-member squad for the Bangladesh T20Is, with all-rounder Salman Ali Agha continuing as captain.
Vice-captain Shadab Khan and bowler Haris Rauf will be absent due to injuries.
Shadab recently underwent successful shoulder surgery in the UK to address a long-standing issue.
Rauf, on the other hand, suffered a Grade 1 hamstring injury while playing for San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025.
Their unavailability has created an opportunity for Mohammad Nawaz to return to the team, while left-arm bowler Salman Mirza has earned his first national call-up following impressive performances in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.
Nawaz last played a T20I for Pakistan in January 2024 against New Zealand and has been absent from the national setup since then.
The Pakistan squad is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on July 16, with the T20I matches set to take place on July 20, 22, and 24 in Dhaka.
