Bellew Predicts Usyk Victory Over Dubois
Former world champion Tony Bellew anticipates Oleksandr Usyk will defeat Daniel Dubois via knockout between the eighth and twelfth rounds. The match is scheduled for July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, according to reports.
Dubois previously faced Usyk in August 2023. Usyk won that match in Poland with a ninth-round knockout, after having knocked down Dubois twice. The fight generated controversy when a punch that dropped Usyk was deemed a low blow by officials.
Since their initial match, Usyk has fought Tyson Fury on two occasions, securing victories in both and becoming the undisputed champion.
Bellew, a former world champion who previously lost to Usyk in a cruiserweight bout, foresees a knockout loss for Dubois in their upcoming fight.
Bellew’s Statement
“Usyk is the premier heavyweight globally and arguably the best of this era. His capabilities are undeniable,” Bellew stated.
“Dubois has demonstrated resilience, often proving me wrong after I’ve doubted him. While he has a chance, Usyk has already forced him to quit once. The question is, can Usyk replicate that?”
“Dubois is currently experiencing a career high, having overcome significant challenges, boosting his confidence. However, I anticipate a stoppage between rounds eight and twelve.”
A victory for Usyk would mark his second time as undisputed heavyweight champion, having previously held all titles in the cruiserweight division.
