Sindh Govt Orders Inspection of Dilapidated Buildings Following Lyari Collapse

Sindh’s Minister for Local Government, Saeed Ghani, announced on Monday that the committee investigating the recent collapse of a five-story building in Lyari has been instructed to provide a comprehensive report on 51 additional buildings in Karachi that are in severe disrepair.

“The same committee will now assess the structural integrity of 51 hazardous buildings throughout the city and submit its findings within the next 24 hours,” he stated during a press conference in Karachi. He was accompanied by Sindh senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar.
