PCB Approves PKR 18.30 Billion Budget and Announces Award for Best Region
LAHORE: During its 78th Board of Governors (BoG) meeting, held on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to annually reward the nation’s top-performing region for its cricket development efforts.
The BoG meeting was led by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Attendees included BoG members Zaheer Abbas, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah, and Tariq Sarwar, along with PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, Director of Media & Communications Amir Mir, Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, and Head of Women’s Cricket Rafia Haider.
Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla, Anwar Ghani, Mustafa Ramday, Daniyal Gilani, Anwar Ahmed Khan, and Dr. Shafi Rehman participated remotely.
The Chief Financial Officer, Javed Murtaza, briefed the board, and the BoG then gave its unanimous approval to a total budget of PKR 18.30 billion for the ongoing fiscal year.
In a released statement, the PCB communicated that the budget projections for the fiscal year 2025–26 gained unanimous endorsement during the assembly. The approved budget amounts to PKR 18.30 billion for the current financial year.
The cricket board also resolved to recognize the region that exhibits the best performance in promoting and advancing cricket by presenting them with an annual award.
The statement further noted that the board agreed to annually acknowledge and reward the region showcasing premier performance in cricket promotion and development. This initiative involves bestowing an award to the top-performing region each year.
Furthermore, the PCB has committed to monitoring the performance of its staff regularly and ratified the decisions made in the previous board session.
