Alex Khan Appointed as Coach for Pakistan U-18 Baseball Team
The Baseball Federation of Pakistan has given Alex Khan, a player on the national team, the added role of coaching the Pakistan Under-18 baseball squad.
The federation announced the appointment on social media, stating, “We’re excited to announce that Alex Khan has been named head coach of the Pakistan U18 team for the upcoming U18 World Cup qualifiers! 🇵🇰 2026.”
The announcement further emphasized that Khan brings substantial coaching expertise from youth baseball to summer collegiate levels, and they are eager to make an impact on the international stage.
Federation President Fakhar Shah verified that Alex Khan, a Pakistani-American, has been officially designated as the head coach for the national U18 team.
Khan, who also pitches for Pakistan’s senior team, participated in the 2022 World Baseball Classic and is slated to compete in the upcoming Asian Championship.
Fakhar Shah pointed to Alex’s considerable background in junior baseball as the primary reason for his selection.
He mentioned that Alex will prepare young athletes for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches scheduled for the following year.
He also shared intentions to organize a training session for the junior team within the United States, citing the insufficient advanced baseball facilities available in Pakistan.
He added, “We’re in the process of arranging a training camp in the US, and 15 players will be chosen for participation in this Under-18 development program.”
