US Woman Marries Pakistani Man in Upper Dir

After a two-year-long friendship that began on Facebook, a woman from the United States has married Sajid Zeb Khan, a Pakistani man residing in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The marriage took place on Tuesday.

Sajid confirmed that their Nikah ceremony was conducted the previous night. He also mentioned that Mindy, originally from Chicago, has converted to Islam and now goes by the Islamic name of Zulekha.

Sajid shared that they officially signed the marriage contract, marking a joyous occasion for his family. The American bride also voiced her happiness about marrying Sajid.

Mindy arrived in Pakistan just a day before to formalize her marriage with Sajid.

Sajid welcomed her at Islamabad International Airport, after which they traveled to Usheri Dara in Upper Dir. The US national, who works as a flight attendant and resides in Chicago, received a warm reception from the local community in Dir.

Sajid told the media that their connection began two years ago on Facebook, and as their online relationship deepened, Mindy proposed marriage.

Sajid accepted her proposal, and they both informed their families about their decision to get married.

In a video message recorded at Sajid’s home, Mindy stated, “My name is Mindy, and I am from America. This is my first time in Pakistan, and I find it to be a very beautiful and peaceful country. I am here for Sajid Khan, and we are planning to get married soon.”
