Asia Cup 2025 Schedule Expected Soon

The schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is anticipated to be formally unveiled in the early days of July, according to sources. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is emerging as a leading location to stage the event.

Alternatively, there’s a strong likelihood the tournament will implement a hybrid format, echoing the approach used in the 2023 edition. In 2023, Pakistan held hosting rights, but India played its matches in Sri Lanka due to political considerations, resulting in a hybrid arrangement.

While India is slated to host the 2025 Asia Cup, Pakistan is unlikely to participate in India given the existing political climate. Consequently, the competition might take place entirely within the UAE or revert to a hybrid structure.

Reports suggest that should preparations advance efficiently, the tournament will probably commence in the second week of September, with September 10 under consideration as a possible start date.

Considering the approaching ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the Asia Cup 2025 is projected to adopt the T20 format. This adaptation aims to support participating teams in their preparations for the international competition.

The confirmed teams for the Asia Cup 2025 include Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the UAE.

Promotional activities for the tournament are already active, featuring promos broadcast on television networks and widely shared on social media platforms.

Earlier reports speculated about India’s potential withdrawal from the competition due to political tensions. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuted these claims, clarifying that no such determination had been reached. Sources also affirmed that India and Pakistan will continue to compete in ICC and Asia Cup tournaments. No formal decision has been made by either side to avoid contests in these multinational events.
