Itauma Eyes Bakole Bout Following Whyte Showdown in Saudi Arabia

Turki Alalshikh is reportedly mapping out Moses Itauma’s next contest against Martin Bakole, even as Itauma prepares to face Dillian Whyte. The highly anticipated bout with fellow Briton Whyte is slated for August 16 in Saudi Arabia.

The 20-year-old Itauma, an undefeated heavyweight, has garnered attention for his exceptional abilities, drawing comparisons to iconic figures like Tyson early in his career. However, he is yet to face a competitor of Whyte’s caliber.

Despite this, Alalshikh, a prominent figure in Saudi boxing, expresses strong confidence in Itauma’s potential. He’s proactively planning Itauma’s subsequent fight, aiming for a matchup against the formidable Bakole.

Bakole, with a record of 21-2-1, previously achieved a notable victory by knocking out Jared Anderson in August 2024. Anderson was once considered a rising star in the heavyweight division. Nevertheless, Bakole’s recent KO loss to Joseph Parker in February, compounded by a draw against Efe Ajagba in May, has somewhat tarnished his standing.

Alalshikh intends to stage the Itauma versus Martin Bakole fight as part of a compelling four-fight card. This event would also feature Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis versus Vergil Ortiz Jr, William Zepeda versus Andy Cruz, and Christian Mbilli versus Lester Martinez.

Alalshikh conveyed that discussions regarding the fight are ongoing, and he remains optimistic about its realization.

“Currently, we are engaging in discussions with all involved parties to organize a card in November,” Alalshikh stated.

“My hope is to feature Ortiz against Boots, Bakole against Itauma, Zepeda against Cruz, and Mbilli against Martinez.”

“Should all parties and promoters agree, our intention is to host it all in one night in Riyadh this November.”
