Pakistan to Participate in Three T20Is in Dhaka Starting July 20

LAHORE: The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to journey to Bangladesh for a series of three T20I matches in July. According to sources on Wednesday, the official schedule is anticipated to be revealed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in the coming week.

Insiders indicate that the BCB has already provided the PCB with a preliminary schedule. This schedule includes three T20I matches set for July 20, 22, and 24.

The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, located in Mirpur, Dhaka, is expected to host all games.

This set of matches was agreed upon after discussions between high-ranking officials from the PCB and BCB. These talks occurred alongside the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 events in Pakistan and the UAE. It’s important to note that this series is outside the Future Tours Programme (FTP).

Recently, Bangladesh, captained by Litton Das, completed a three-match T20I tour in Pakistan. Pakistan secured a decisive 3-0 victory in that series.

The series also represented the debut for Mike Hesson, the newly appointed head coach for white-ball cricket, along with Salman Ali Agha, the T20I team’s captain.

Following the Bangladesh visit, Pakistan will proceed to the West Indies for further white-ball matches.

The three T20I games versus the West Indies will begin on July 31 in the United States, potentially followed by an ODI series.

However, media reports suggest that the PCB and Cricket West Indies (CWI) are discussing the possibility of substituting the ODI portion of the tour with more T20I matches.

This potential adjustment seeks to improve Pakistan’s preparedness for upcoming competitions. These include the 2025 ACC Men’s Asia Cup, which will use the T20 format, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.

Currently, the T20I games are planned for July 31, August 2, and August 3. The ODI series, if it proceeds, is slated for August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

More details regarding the finalized schedule and any alterations to the ODI series are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
