ICC WTC Final Set for June 11 at Lord’s

The countdown has commenced for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. The quest to be crowned Test cricket champions will begin on June 11 at Lord’s, where current titleholders Australia will compete against South Africa.

Prior to the WTC final, Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins and South Africa’s captain Temba Bavuma participated in a photoshoot with the ICC Test mace at Lord’s on Sunday.

Both squads are engaged in rigorous training to emerge victorious in the significant contest, each team showcasing several high-caliber match-winning players.

Kagiso Rabada, who was previously suspended, has rejoined the South African team.

The ICC World Test Championship final is scheduled for June 11 at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, featuring South Africa versus defending champions Australia.

South Africa is currently at the forefront of the WTC 2023-25 standings, having secured victory in eight of their twelve Test matches.

Following a 1-1 tie in their home series against India and a 2-0 loss in New Zealand, they rallied with series wins over the West Indies (1-0), Bangladesh (2-0), Sri Lanka (2-0), and Pakistan (2-0).

Conversely, Australia is positioned second in the standings, with thirteen victories and four defeats out of nineteen Test matches.

Their journey encompassed a 2-0 victory against Sri Lanka, a 3-1 triumph over India, a 2-0 series win against New Zealand, and a 1-1 draw with the West Indies.

They also achieved a 3-0 whitewash against Pakistan, while the Ashes series against England concluded in a 2-2 draw.
