Stay informed with health tips from Pakistan's Hajj mission amid severe heatwave at Saudi Arabia’s holy sites.

The Pakistan Hajj Mission has issued a 'Health Alert' to pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia in response to the intense heatwave gripping the country. The advisory emphasizes the need for pilgrims to stay hydrated, seek shade, and take necessary medications as they navigate the holy sites during their pilgrimage.

Pilgrims are advised to stay inside tents or shaded areas whenever possible, particularly during peak sun hours when temperatures can soar above 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). The mission also recommends carrying umbrellas or using portable shades to protect against direct sunlight.

Additionally, pilgrims are urged to carry medications for dehydration and heat exhaustion, as well as any other pre-existing health conditions they may have. It is crucial that these medications remain readily available throughout their journey.

Dr. Ayesha Khan, spokesperson for the Pakistan Hajj Mission, emphasized the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pilgrims during this challenging period. "The heat can be extremely taxing on one's body," she said. "We urge all pilgrims to take necessary precautions and stay informed about their health."

Pilgrims are also advised to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day, and seek medical attention immediately if they experience symptoms such as dizziness or nausea.

The advisory comes as a reminder that while the Hajj is a time for spiritual reflection and devotion, it is equally important to prioritize physical health. The Pakistan Hajj Mission continues to monitor conditions closely and will provide further updates as needed.

As pilgrims prepare for their journey, they are encouraged to follow these guidelines diligently to ensure a safe and healthy experience at Mecca and Medina.
