Healthcare Outreach at Suki Kinari Project Site

In a significant humanitarian initiative, the Pakistan Army and SK Hydro jointly organized a free medical camp at the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project site in Balakot, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The camp was set up to provide much-needed healthcare services to remote communities living near the project area, where access to medical facilities is limited.

Doctors and paramedics from the Pakistan Army, along with medical staff supported by SK Hydro, offered free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic services to hundreds of patients. The camp focused on addressing common health issues, preventive care, and raising awareness about hygiene and disease prevention.

Community members expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that such outreach programs bring vital healthcare closer to families who otherwise struggle to access hospitals or clinics due to distance and financial constraints.

The medical camp is part of SK Hydro’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at improving the quality of life for communities around the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project. The Pakistan Army’s involvement underscores its commitment to supporting local populations through welfare and humanitarian projects.

Officials highlighted that similar camps will continue to be organized, ensuring that healthcare services reach marginalized groups in the region. The initiative also strengthens the bond between development projects and local communities, fostering goodwill and trust.

By combining resources and expertise, SK Hydro and the Pakistan Army are not only advancing Pakistan’s energy infrastructure but also contributing to social development and public welfare in remote areas.
