The Capital Development Authority has decided to allocate a plot adjacent to Islamabad International Airport for a new office of the Anti-Narcotics Force. This move is designed to reinforce the security infrastructure around the airport and to improve the capacity to monitor and intercept narcotics smuggling.
New Measures from CDA’s Board Meeting
At its recent 16th board meeting led by the CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa the Authority greenlit several steps aimed at enhancing safety and public welfare. Among these decisions was the land grant for the ANF office as well as land for a new police station. These steps underscore the commitment to protection of citizens and enforcement of law around high risk zones.
Relief Measures for Citizens
In that meeting charges for some services tied to burials were waived. This includes removing fees for grave-digging and provision of coffin carrier buses in Islamabad. The aim is to offer easier and more compassionate support to families during difficult times. Authorities also ordered that more coffin carrier buses be deployed in graveyards to meet demand.
Health Sector Reforms
Capital Hospital will see changes. Fee structures for private patients under the Institutional Based Private Practice scheme will be revised. Also hospital operations will be modernized. A cashless payment system will be introduced. Revenue from the hospital is set to be used for upgrading facilities and improving patient care.
Internship Opportunity for Graduates
A new CDA Internship Policy 2025 will allow graduates from top public and private universities to gain practical exposure through transparent hiring on merit. This initiative aims both to fill skill gaps within CDA and to give young professionals meaningful work experience.
Other Decisions and Civic Enhancements
The Board also proposed renaming the F-10 East Service Road after national javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. An agreement for Islamabad municipal waste management was extended with the custom of transporting waste to Chak Beli Khan Road dumping site. Rules were adopted to upgrade Statistical Assistants in Grade 15 and 16 in line with directives from the Finance Division.
CDA Priorities Highlighted
